I woke up on my back the rain was pouring after the slip I don’t know what the hell grabbed my leg but it hurts like hell right now but it doesn’t feel like it’s bleeding and I don’t have the strength to look at it yet I keep thinking back about how my grandpa told me not to hunt it not to hunt it but yet here I am wanting to feel the deal and finally make a name for myself like he did except I don’t feel like I’m strong enough to get back up after that i don’t wven know where my rifle is but i still got the 12 gage I remember how the teeth looked they was yellow and stained but at the same time the very tips on what stained with blood it look like just had a Navajo said it would except more violentI got lucky with the 12 gauge because it landed on top of me but at the same time I know I can’t fire unless I’m standing fuck why do I have to load up the Magnum shot why couldn’t I listen to my pop-up why do I have to do this here I am 21 laying here in the mud hoping that I can even stand to see you tomorrow no I need to fight the Legacy won’t die with me it will grow stronger and become something more*he say as he forcing himself up the pain in his leg completely forgot as he racks the shotgun with a live round his thoughts a limp away trying to make sure he knows his surroundings but the rain it’s just hitting so hard it’s a little bit disorienting he has to keep going* fuck my leg it seems like it’s on fire but I can put some weight on it so I know I’m not down and out yet May the Navajo please be generous on my soul if they find me dead and papa I’m sorry for being such a stubborn bastard but I am going to make you proud no matter what I’m going to kill this damn thing

Me thinks it’s a job done by the SCP Foundation, and the creature is an escaped SCP.

I actually had a close encounter with a shapeshifter before. It posed as one of my friends. They seamed a little off that day so I asked them what is wrong. They said they were tired. I thought that was strange because they drink coffee every day. Then I saw a mark on their hand hat wasn’t there the last time I saw them. it looked like an oval on it’s side with a horizontal line through it. Like an eye with a red line through it. I asked them some personal questions and 2 out of the 5 were right, the rest were wrong. Before anything else happened, the thing said do I want to go to their house I said no, reasonably. They got mad and I turned around for about a minute and felt something trying to choke me. I turn around a see a blurry figure with distorted features. The rest goes black in memory.

Good Lord! The first one made me want to cry it was so sad but in such a darkly sweet way. Fish Boy was weird and interesting. I like the tie in to the other two stories as she talked. Bog Dog was a down right nightmare of a good tale. I really want to hear more from this author now. These 3 stories really hooked me.

The Mother’s Kiss story ended kinda sweet. It made me smile. I feel bad about the poor dad though. Maybe he’s still out there in some form too. I’d like to think so. The mom was horrible to want to take the kids away from a loving father like that with no consideration. I understand how he felt like he had no other choice but o fall off the grid with the kids. Today’s society belittles a good father’s role too much and always rewards the mom no matter what.

Brown bears are grizzlies. They can easily get the upper hand on a Navy SEAL let alone an outdoorsman weekend warrior type. They are generally just a tad smaller than polar bears but often get just as big. Browns and Polars often cross breed. Now a black bear, that would be something to wonder about. They don’t get nearly as big or mean. You can normally stand them down unless cubs are involved.

Hey guys! Love your work and all that you do to keep us all spooked. I do want to say, though. This is a well written and read story; it’s quite fantastic, actually.
But, as a veteran who suffers from depression and suicidal ideation every day, I would have appreciated a disclaimer. I did not feel a suicide trigger for this, but it did feel a little to “real” and a little too close to home. I don’t know the author’s story, so I can’t comment on their intentions. However, I still would have liked a disclaimer. That way I wouldn’t be so “thrown off” by the content.

I didn’t experience that – because I was born (legally) blind (it means I could see light & dark, not much else), so I never knew anything else about other senses sharpening or dulling. Until I got the operation at 8 yrs old that inexpertly “restored” my sight, I didn’t understand what colors were. When I first opened my eyes after the first operation, everything was so bright it scared me. I was afraid of the light.

I saw a guy die from a heart condition when he was 28. He had been released by the doctor and was waiting for his wife to pick him up when suddenly, he had a massive coronary attack and nothing we did (with all the hospital equipment on hand) would save him. That one still bothers me.

I used to do that for a job: EMT-D = the one who puts the paddles on and “jumpstarts” the heart. Then they took away the title and I became an EMT-I. Then they took away the title of EMT-I so I had to become a paramedic. Either that or work inside the hospital again and I didn’t want to do that.

Where I live somebody got the death sentence, and was executed, for robbing a convenient store.
He thought he was robbing a store clerk and that’s all. But THIS clerk worked at Procter&Gamble Laboratories during the day. He was working the clerk job to make extra money to pay for his kids college education.

When I was a paramedic, I never saw anything like that because, in all the big cities I lived in, we weren’t allowed to remove a dead body if it was dead before we arrived. The coroner’s office does that.
In small towns, they still bring the ambulance to help load bodies (I know bc they did it with my biological mother when she died), but I never end in a small town.

They have a test now – and have for some time – that prevents them from burying a cataleptic person alive. It’s a machine that looks for brain activity, which is easy to know if it exists or not.
But if you don’t work in Emergency Medicine & Advanced Cardiac Life support I guess you won’t know about this invention? I’m really surprised if Google didn’t include the information.
I like the story anyway. I’m just constantly surprised at how little information they give to a layperson. I can’t believe how dumb some doctors think laypersons are. They’re not brain-dead.

Matt Dymerski could have worked in our Cardiac Life Support unit, at least in terms of how much he thinks.
We had an EKG Technician (and cardioverter) who thought thinking a lot was a BAD thing. She told me I think too much.
My grandpa died of a massive heart attack. That’s why I wanted to work in cardiac care; it wasn’t for the cardiologists unending fascinating conversations. My grandpa was my inspiration.

That’s a pleasant thought. I was a lot better at considering such things when I worked as a Paramedic. I do better thinking about the ways of death when I’m also thinking I’m helping them in their last mins.
A Hospice nurse told us that. One shift we had nothing but traumatic deaths. She said we sere being a Hospice nurse, helping them in their last moments.

Anyone who has a fondness for writing, like the protagonist, might be cured of that after studying “wie bauen deutschesätze” for one year. That’s ‘How to build German Sentences.’
Almost everything in an English sentence is the opposite in a German sentence and that’s where it begins. I thought English conjunctions were hard to understand until I had to do German ones.
I play these stories to my German husband, who’s trying to learn English through stories. He’s having the same problem with English sentences that I do with German.

Jeez, he’s planning to JOLT her awake with a whistle or water in her face? You can tell he’s never worked in emergency Medicine anyway. He needs to check her LOC (level of consciousness before doing anything else. It’s really easy to dol; you press her first and second fingers together and apply pressure to them, see if she pulls them away from you. If she’s not in a coma or suffering Schizophrenia w/ catatonic features, she’ll try to pull her hand away and you’ll know she has no motor control issues.
Of course, that might not work in a story I used to think I could be a good writer because I know about Emergency Medicine but most people find my answers boring. I must agree: it sounds more boring than blowing a whistle in her ear or pouring cold water in her face.

When I worked at a school library as the Librarian’s Aide, she read the first graders this story and sounded so menacing when she said the part “Give me back my taily-po,” she practically scared them to death. We’re talking overkill. We’re talking the first difficult supervisor I ever had.
I don’t think you’re supposed to scare them THAT much. I can’t listen to this story without remembering her voice. I even felt scared & I knew it was just a story. I’m not sure they did, at that point but she forbade me to tell them.

There would be all kinds of cats getting trapped inside that dark thing. Probably every cast in the neighborhood. Cats are so curious. They have to inspect every box that comes into the house. That’s why I named my kitty Pandora. She snooped in all the boxes and let out trouble. My ex-husband didn’t like her doing it. Most of the boxes were for him. Most of the stuff in the house was his too and she claimed most of it as hers. In the photo, she’s on his keyboard.

My ex-husband worked in research science. He was one of those child geniuses who got his Ph.D in 7 instead of 8 years.
I can relate to stories about sinister science, even though he was never as unethical as some were. He refused to do something the Navy wanted him to do something for them that upset him like crazy but he couldn’t tell me about it so I never found out what they wanted him to do. Before that request, he never got emotional at all.
The Navy managed to do in 5 mins. what doctors couldn’t accomplish in two years. He was able to become emotional after that.

I like the music in the background and especially the twins. I grew up with identical twins. One of my mom’s best friends had twins named Audra and Jana.
I couldn’t believe how different their personalities were. But all their physical qualities were the same because they were identical. But they had very different personalities.

It’s black as pitch – the Void.
It was when I left my body during a routine surgery to remove a lump for biopsy. It can’t be explained away as a “dream” though, because during general anesthesia, your entire brain has been shut down by the anesthetic (that’s why they have to breathe for you). I don’t know where I actually was but it wasn’t coming from my brain and I wasn’t dreaming. But I was all of a sudden outside of my body. And the surgeon said it took too long to get me to breathe on my own and was really distressed about it.
IDK why. I told her beforehand that I don’t tolerate anesthesia very well. I told her more than once.

It turns out they were all too hard to listen to, which almost never happens to me. I was a paramedic; I saw things that I can’t repeat to non-medics or non-emergency room workers to this day. But I only lasted 2 hours into this one because, in a way, he was mentioning things I’ve seen that I can’t forget nor tell most people.
He talks about what I saw in Los Angeles while working on the life squad as an EMT-A(mbulance). IDK where this author has seen it.

Dear sirs at chilling entertainment. I enjoy above all else the quality of production you bring to your podcasts. While I have individual preferences of narrators, I Iike hearing all their readings. My one complaint is the overlap of materials chosen between some of this website’s podcasts stories and Nosleep podcast stories. I believe reducing the readings of stories already done by nosleep would make thses fine productions stand out more, help make a more defining Identity of the brand these podcasts have, and encourage explorations into horror that are beyond what other audio podcasts offer.

I wonder if the author of this story gets mail from readers absit the fate of the dog in this story.
Stephen King did an interview the day before Election Day about his book ‘The Dead Zone.’ He said people were more upset at him for writing a scene where a dog is kicked to death by a terrible person than about how many people died in ‘The Stand.’ He said they inundated him with letters of outrage.
I didn’t like that the dog died but I was angry at the character, not the author.

All needed to do was start sleeping with a CPAP machine (with a mask over my face) and it stopped my nightmares. It also stopped every dream I’ve ever had and I still find that deeply disturbing. It’s not normal IMO. It’s every bit as abnormal as dreaming too much, if you ask me, but that’s how it is now.

I would feel just right taking a paramedic’s body That’s what I was for over 10 years.

This was my favorite story. It’s the kind of story that made me want to be a writer even though people told me I couldn’t because I’m a girl. I became a paramedic instead, which they really thought I wouldn’t do (when I was a child, they didn’t hire women as paramedic/firefighters.)
I tried to write for money before Internet, but it didn’t work. OTOH stories like this one man me want to try again.

I have a fear of bees that’s even more intense than my terror of spiders. I’m so allergic to bees that one wasp stinging me 2 times before it flew off almost killed me. I hace 2 Epi-Pens now. I hope I have enough time to use it. The last time I started having breathing difficulty pretty dang fast.
I like stories about ands and bees. I liked the movie Ants from the 70’s.

I’ll never forget when I discovered that you’re not allowed to drink alcohol in the Magic Kingdom. I wanted to go to Epcot Center but couldn’t, because the 10-yr old girl I was an Au Pair to just had to go on the Tea Cups.
I thought that meant once or twice, but I was totally wrong, We were there for hours.

August Derleth is a household name, just not with horror, or what they called speculation fiction in the 40’s.
A friend of mine won the August Derleth award for best fantasy – in the 1980’s for his popular fantasy series.
I wish you guys would read August Deleth’s horror story ‘The Blue Spectacles.’ I love that story I can’t ay why or it would spoil the ending of the story. It’s a really short story.

Just for the record, my wonderful husband was a prison guard. But of course nobody bothered him. Every time they would see a person who’s 2 meters and 6 cms tall and decide it wasn’t worth it.
He was a guard in Germany. Their measurements are all in metric. His height in ft./inches is 6’9. He’s a gentle giant.
I can’t write von your You Tube page OR channel. Before Bit Coin pulled that stunt, I was able to comment. Since then, all my comments have dropped into a cyber black hole. Nobody ever sees the comment.
It’s totally not fair, I did NOTHING. Bit Coin did it all and I’M being punished for it.
I’ll never buy Bit Coins & tell everyone I know not to.

but the story is not a derivative. I’m a Copywriter. I know what derivative writing is. It was difficult to avoid it on my first project. Writing isn’t as easy as all the people think, who also tell you that you don’t do “real work” if you’re a freelance writer.

Then I power ON, all led flashes one time and remains turned on only power on led and USB (and lan or wan if I connect cable to them). Now i cant do “so turn on the router and when the LAN light goes on, press the QSS button repeatedly until you see the second LED blinking like crazy. ” Nothing helps becouse SYS led off. It blinks only one time then I power on router. Please, help, what to do.

The author explained it a bit in the youtube comments;

“Hi and thanks for your interest in my story. The protagonist is severely deluded and thinks that he is heroically ridding the world of evil which is disguised as the old landladies. The situation in the story is one that he has been through several times, making him a multiple killer (hence the ‘trophies’ he keeps in his case). He is presented as initially weak to distract the reader from his psychosis.

Far out! I have been through the emotional ringer today from the fear of leaving someone to die for the good of the family.
To the sounds of someone being eaten and my stomach turning.
Tears for the souls that were going to lose their lives for their country and finally the anxiety knowing she’s fallen into the clutches of a serial killer. I think your fantastic already and yet you only get better.

My 26 year old son moved home to take csre of 61 year old me. I fell and broke my leg in 7 places, had to have surgery to piece my leg back together with metal plates and pins and after 30+ days, I was finally released to go home.

For the first time since I was 15 years old, I had no health insurance as I had been laid off from my job a month earlier. I needed to have a right knee replacement done and had walked with a cane for over a year. I had already fallen one evening when I stopped to get gas in my car. I also had other chronic illnesses and my doctors had been telling me for years to go on permanent disability. I decided that since I was 58, walked with a limp and a cane and moved rather slowly, I would finally take my doctors’ advice and apply for it. I was approved in less than 2 months. Then I fell and broke my leg.

My son moved home to help with my recuperation. While he ran up to the corner store for some Red Bull, I got up to go to the bathroom. I had a walker and a wheelchair, but I fell again getting to the wheelchair with the walker. I fell on my right side and the pain was excruciating. I could tell by my son’s facial expression that he was furious that I had gotten up while he was gone. He gently scooped me up and put me back in bed. We discussed whether or not I should go to the emergency room. I decided not to go. I didn’t think anyone could be unlucky enough to break another bone. After all, I had gone almost 60 years without breaking a single bone. Plus I already had thousands of dollars in medical bills for the last hospital stay. Besides, my medicare insurance only had a few more days before it would go into effect.

My son waited on me, fixed my meals and watched tv and movies with me. I thought I would get him addicted to my shows, but it was not to be. We compromised at first, but the next thing I knew, we were always listening to “Chilling Tales For Dark Nights.” By then, I was truly suffering with unimaginable pain, but listening to your soothing, and by now familiar voices, mixed with leftover pain pills, somehow got me through the next 20 days. My son called an ambulance when he saw that I couldn’t endure the pain another minute and they took me to the hospital. They told me my hip wasn’t broken because I wouldn’t have been able to sit up in the wheelchair or endure that type of pain for 20 days. I told them it was broken and that I had made it for 20 days because of the pain pills and my friends at “Chilling Tales For Dark Nights” telling me tales of others in terrible situations of distress, enduring mental and physical pain much worse than mine.

They finally believed me when the xrays confirmed that my hip was shattered and I had to have a hip replacement the following morning. I still need to have a knee replacement, but then my entire right leg will be metal. Maybe they will have bionics by then. My orthopedist doesn’t know if my right leg can handle another surgery, but thinks it will be 5 years before he will even discuss it. I may never be able to have it done. So please come up with some wild pain relief for me. Maybe I will try my hand at a few bizarre stories. I did live in a crazy haunted house in the 70’s.

I am back at home and my son is still here. He has been an angel. I wish he had entered your contest, but now i will know when your contests and special events are coming up. I have subscribed and appreciate you sending your fans the commercial free versions of the 10 favorites. Nobody else that I know of does that. I am learning about how all of this technology works. One of my good friends is head of the IT Department at the huge lawfirm where i worked for the last 10 years before being laid off, My son has the TV set up where the YouTube app opens and your channel opens.

Keep up the great work! I don’t think I could get to sleep without hearing one of your voices. It is so soothing I usually fall asleep and have to play it again the first thing in the morning. Thanks, and sorry my comment is so long. I don’t normally ramble on this way!

I love these tales, there needs to be more, Otis Jiry’s great too!!! I’ve listened to all of the stories all 20 hours or so. There needs to be some music too now and then, It makes it more suspenseful. Thank you for the stories they are great!
