Milk Bottles

This is the story of a shopkeeper who sees the same woman rush into her store several nights in a row, always grabbing a bottle of milk and then running out into the night. After several nights of this bizarre behavior, he and a few friends decide to follow her, to find that she is returning – to a graveyard.  This classic tale, which is purportedly “true,” comes from the epic collection of creepy (and sometimes hilarious) folklore,  The Thing at the Foot of the Bed and Other Scary Tales by Maria Leech, and is narrated by Craig Groshek.

“I had this book as a kid and have always remembered it. I read it over and over again. Best ghost story book ever. ‘The Thing at the Foot of the Bed’ is hilarious if told right. ‘Milk Bottles’ is sad and a sweet and a true stor,y along with ‘The Vanish Hitchhiker.’ Read them and then read them again. It’s hard to grow tired of such good writing.”
